UI Copy: Conversion Tracking

Shaped the in-product language for a new analytics feature across modals, tooltips, and empty states.

The problem

Conversion Tracking was shipping with inconsistent terminology and no established voice for analytics UI. The design team had mockups, but the copy lacked a unified style. Stakeholders needed a single source of truth for how Rebrandly talks about clicks, conversions, and attribution.

… and heavy technical language.

My role and approach

Owned all UI copy for the feature launch. Partnered with Amparo (Design), Maria (Product), and Zach (Engineering) to align language across the product surface.

I audited the existing design files for terminology gaps, then proposed a vocabulary map (e.g., what we call a "conversion" vs. an "event"). I drafted copy for empty states, tooltips, and error messages, and updated our writing style guide with analytics-specific rules so future features wouldn't have to start from scratch. We reviewed via Notion and Figma comments.

Results

Style guide adopted as team standard. Feature shipped with copy that matched design intent on first pass, reducing back-and-forth in design review.
